WAXY MAIZE CULTIVATION GUIDE
Regularly monitor the field for early detection and timely control measures, strictly following local agricultural guidelines.
STEP 4 - Pests & Diseases Management
Ensure loose, well-drained, and weed-free soil. Select high-quality HN88 seeds and sow 1 seed per hill. Seed rate: 16–18 kg/ha.
STEP 1 - SOILD AND SEED PREPARATION
Apply a full dose of organic and phosphate basal fertilizers. Top-dress across 3 stages: 5–7 leaves → 9–10 leaves → 5–7 days before tasseling. Combine with weeding, inter-row cultivation, hilling, and proper water management.
Harvest fresh-eating maize around 18–20 days after silking, depending on weather conditions and market requirements. Timely harvesting ensures the optimal tenderness, sweetness, rich flavor, and aroma of HN88.
STEP 2 – PROPER PLANTING DENSITY
Northern provinces: 70 × 25 cm spacing (≈57,000 plants/ha)
Southern provinces: 70 × 20 cm, spacing (≈66,000 plants/ha)
(Sow an extra 10% of seeds in seedling trays for active replanting.)
